The State of DTC Ad Creative.
We ran 6,552 live Meta ads from 50 leading DTC brands through our intelligence engine. Here's what proven creative actually looks like in 2026 - format mix, longevity, and the real ads behind the numbers.
Every figure here is computed live from the public Mammoth ad library - not a static PDF. Browse the raw ads yourself.

Anatomy of a winning ad
Bulk's longest-running creative
The single longest-running ad in our library right now. Here's what makes it a proven winner.

A clean static that reads in a heartbeat - proof that image still earns its place.
Brands kill ads that lose money. An ad running this long is profitable - this is the single clearest proof signal in advertising.
It hasn’t been paused. The algorithm is still spending on it - the strongest vote of confidence a creative can get.
Video has won the feed
63% of all analysed ads are video, and 66% of brands (33 of 50) run a majority-video account. Image still earns its place in retargeting and offers, but video is now the default unit of testing.
Longevity is the real proof signal
Across 592 top-performing ads, the median has been live 57 days, and 32% have run 90+ days. Brands don't keep losing ads live - a long-running ad is a profitable ad. The longest single creative has been live 525 days (Bulk).
Winners compound, they don’t churn
42 ads in the set have run 180+ days. The best DTC brands aren't constantly reinventing - they find a proven angle, then produce variants around it. New creative earns its place by beating the incumbent, not replacing it on a schedule.

What this means for your creative
Four things the data should change about how you test and scale ads.
Proof is rarer than you think - 68% of even top ads die before 90 days
Only 32% of these brands' best ads survive past 90 days. If you're crowning "winners" after two weeks, you're calling it before the data is in. A real winner earns the label by lasting.
Don't kill ads early - the median proven ad runs 57 days
The signal that an ad is genuinely profitable shows up after the first month, not the first week. Premature cuts kill ads that were about to become your longest-running earners.
Lead with video - but know your category's baseline
63% of all ads are video, but it swings by category: Beauty & Skincare leans hardest (69%), while Home & Sleep sits at 49%. Match your format mix to what wins in your space, not the global average.
Milk winners, don't churn them - 42 ads have run 180+ days
The best brands don't reinvent on a schedule. They find a proven angle and build variants around it. Your job isn't a fresh idea every week - it's beating your own incumbent.
Methodology
Figures are drawn from 50 DTC brands published in the Mammoth ad library, covering 6,552 live ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Each brand's active ads are pulled from the public Meta Ad Library and analysed for format, hook, persuasion and longevity. Longevity figures are sampled from each brand's top-performing ads (592 ads). Every number on this page recomputes live as brands are added - and the ads above are real and clickable, so you can verify any claim yourself.
